"50 Most Loathsome People" in 2007 -- Worth a Read and Many Smirks
From the blogosphere, the Buffalo Beast brings us the 50 most loathsome people in America in 2007. It's definitely skewed to the left of center, but the arguments are compelling and the sentences pronounced rather well-deserved and appropriate to the offense. Certain individuals seem like they should rate higher or lower, but overall, a very well-written and humorous stab at the people in politics and celebrity, complete with scattered caricatures throughout. Ranging from Ann Coulter to Mitt Romney to Lou Dobbs to Fred Phelps to W. to even Tim Russert (who I respect greatly, but the Beast makes some very valid points). Special mention goes to Number 9, "You", which really belongs eight places lower. On the flip side, Number 28 seems rather unfair and without good reason and should not be on the list, in my humble opinion. But this is definitely one of the most interesting, smile-inducing, insightful reads of the past year for me.
